LEAGUE POLICIES & GUIDELINES

MUNDY SPORTSPLEX REGISTRATION SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registration Payment – ONE fee per team, processed through online registration or in person at the Facility.
  • All teams and players must be registered by the designated deadlines listed above.
    • There may be limited exceptions for late registrations on an individual basis.
  • All players and coaches must complete the Mundy Sportsplex Release of Liability Waiver Form before their first game.
    • Players who participate in the previous season do NOT need to submit a Waiver Form.
    • All potential guest and/or substitute players must have a Waiver Form submitted as well.
  • Each team is responsible for their own uniforms and/or game attire.
  • All Players and coaches must read and adhere to Mundy Sportsplex’s League Guidelines and Policies.

ROSTER RESTRICTIONS:

  • Teams may have up to 12 players on their roster.
  • All players and substitutes must correctly be listed on the roster.
  • We DO allow players to play on up to two teams.
    • The participant’s name(s) must be listed on both team’s rosters.
  • Teams may add additional players with proof of hardship (injury, travel, etc.).
  • If a team is caught using a non-rostered player, the team may be forced to forfeit the game.

While teams are to use only players on their roster and not from another team, Mundy Sportsplex knows that this is not always the case and teams occasionally need to “borrow” players to be able to provide a competitive game. Again, while not the acceptable method, if this does occur three things are required.

  1. That the opposing team is aware of the “borrowed players'' and approves their use.
  2. The “borrowed” player’s name(s) must be added to the team’s roster they are playing for.
  3. All “borrowed” player(s) must have an up-to-date waiver form completed.

If a team uses players not “okayed”, then the game is subject to forfeit.

REQUESTS & PRIORITIES:

Please understand that not all of your scheduling requests may be met. Priority is given to teams that pay in full by the registration deadline, as well as teams that have participated in previous sessions. Teams playing in previous sessions are not guaranteed a spot in future sessions unless the registration form and deposit are received.

PLAYER / COACH PICTURES:

Your team will receive a complimentary team photo for this session. Mundy Sportsplex staff will also be taking professional photographs of each team at play, that the coach and / or manager will receive electronically via email.

GAME DAY ROSTER CARD:

Prior to the start of each league game teams must submit to the referee a Game Day Roster Card listing the players playing in that game. The referee may check-in players. Teams may add players to this list at any time during the game, provided the player is on the team’s master roster/waiver form.

LEAGUE SCHEDULING:

Games will not be rescheduled due to school/holidays/vacations/tournaments not hosted by Mundy Sportsplex. Rescheduled games must be approved by the Mundy Sportsplex Management and submitted by email to manager@mundysportsplex.com. You may be charged a $20 administrative fee for any requests made after the second game of the session has been played.

Each team is guaranteed 8 games and will be scheduled to play on their primary play day for the majority of their games. Teams may be required to play a small number of games on an alternate day. First game schedules will be released (posted on the internet) approximately one week prior to the first game. The remaining schedule will not be available until after the first game.

Requests for special scheduling needs will be accepted until the team registration closes, two weeks until the first scheduled game. An attempt will be made to accommodate your team’s needs but will NOT be guaranteed.

NOTE: teams may be rotated throughout the day. No team will be given set time slots for each game day.

GAME SCHEDULE AND RESCHEDULE POLICY:

Due to the high use of the facility, the ability to reschedule games is basically impossible. Please submit any special game time/day requests and/or restrictions as early as possible (as mentioned above in League Scheduling). If a team is unable to play a scheduled game, Mundy Sportsplex asks to be notified at least 48 hours in advance, so that the other team can be notified. For the team that is able to make the match, the field will be theirs to be used for a scrimmage or practice.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:

Mundy Sportsplex will remain open during any inclement weather unless mandated by the state. Games will go on as scheduled. While teams are encouraged to make a game if they feel comfortable driving, teams that make the decision to not show up for a game will not be subject to a fine, if they call in advance. Unfortunately, the team making the decision to not show up will forfeit the game. This includes league championship games. Games will not be rescheduled

If a team makes a decision to not show up, the opposing team’s manager will be called. The opposing team will then make the decision to take the field or not, and will not be subject to a fine. The  team will have full use of the field and referee.

In contacting Mundy Sportsplex to inform us that your team will not be showing up, please call (810) 820-2641. If the decision to close Mundy Sportsplex is made, notification will be in the form of one or all of the following, email/phone calls to all Managers/Coaches, postings on the website, and/or a voicemail message.

DIVISION REQUESTS:

The Mundy Sportsplex Facility will do its best in placing players/teams in a competitive league. Please note that division placement is a request and therefore not a guarantee. If it becomes impossible to satisfy your division request, alternative options will be presented on a case-by-case basis.

PAYMENTS:

Payment is preferred by a single means (1 check, 1 credit card), but multiple methods will be accepted. Returned checks are subject to a $50 processing fee and it will be the responsibility of the Team Manager to ensure repayment is made. The Team Manager is responsible for the full payment of the league fees.

DEPOSITS:

Teams registering must submit a $150 deposit to secure their spot in the league. This deposit is non-refundable after it is submitted.

LEAGUE BALANCE:

All league fees are the responsibility of the Coach/Team Manager. The league fee is expected to be paid in full by the second game of the session. There will be no refunds after the first Monday after registration closes, even if the team decides not to play. Teams registering with partial payment must have a credit card on file. Any team fees remaining after the second game will automatically be charged to the credit card on file without notification. Failure to do so may result in removal of the team and / or manager from any further league play.

REFUNDS:

A full refund will be given to a player who decides to withdraw before the first Monday after registration closes. After this, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. All requests for refund after the deadline must be submitted in writing to the Management Team at:

Mundy Sportsplex

Attn: League Management

5431 Hill 23 Drive

Flint MI 48436.

All requests for refunds will be held by the League Management until after the first game of the season. The Facility Manager will issue all refunds within 30 days of receipt.

PAYMENT FOR LEAGUE GAMES:

No refunds or credits will be given for the following reasons:

  • Forfeited games.
  • Stoppage of game due to player/team/coach/spectator misconduct or injury.
  • Inclement weather.
  • Teams suspended from playing in a league.

If one team forfeits, the other team has full use of the field for the time frame of the scheduled game. They are welcome to use it for practice or scrimmage.

POINTS:

Teams earn points as follows:

  • 3 pts for a win
  • 1 point for a tie
  • 0 points for a loss

Rankings will be based on the accumulated point total the team has earned for the current session. When two or more teams are tied and placement order is needed, the following tie breakers will be used:

  1. If all teams played an equal number of games head to head, placement will be determined by best record amongst the tied teams. If this does not apply nor determine a winner, then:
  2. Best goal difference (Goals For - Goals Against) will be used. Reminder that the maximum posted goal difference is 9 per game. If this does not determine a winner, then:
  3. Least goals against. If this does not determine a winner, then:
  4. Most shutouts (zero goals against in a game). If this does not determine a winner, then:
  5. Coin Flip. Team listed first alphabetically calls

INCORRECT SCORES/STANDINGS:

Please address incorrect scores or standings to the Mundy Management Team via email to manager@mundysportsplex.com and/or latisha@mundysportsplex.com

All teams, make sure to verify the correct score after your game by initialing the score card. Incorrect scores may stand when unverified or verified incorrectly.

SUSPENSIONS AND FINE POLICY:

Mundy Sportsplex reserves the right to ban any player, coach, managers, and/or spectator from the property and participation in any event for any misconduct as deemed by Mundy Sportsplex Management. The following behaviors are strictly forbidden:

  1. Fighting
  2. Violent play
  3. Poor sportsmanship
  4. Vulgar language
  5. Threatening behavior
  6. Destruction of facility property

Any player receiving a straight Red Card OR two yellow cards in a game will receive an additional two game suspension and a $50 fine. Depending on the severity of an infraction, the referee and/or Mundy Sportsplex may impose a fine and suspension that is more or less severe, up to and including being banned from the Facility. If a suspended player plays in a game, the game becomes a forfeit. An additional fine/suspension may be imposed on that individual as well as on the team Coach/Captain/Team Manager. The offending player must sit out the required amount of games and pay his/her fine before being allowed to participate in the league. Suspensions carry over to multiple leagues, so, for example, a player getting a red card in his men’s league game would have to sit out of his coed league’s game if registered for that second league, and if his next game to be played at Mundy Sportsplex would be with that second league.

GAME DAY PROCEDURES:

  1. It is recommended for players to arrive a few minutes prior to the game to warm-up. The training space area may be available for pre-game warm-up; no spectators may play in this warm-up area.
  2. Once the field is available, teams are encouraged to take the field to continue warming up. Hint: have players line their bags up against the net (on the field). Then, when the player bench is cleared, they can move them there. Please take the correct bench according to the schedule; home team is listed first, away team is second.
  3. Determine jersey color of opponent. If conflicting, the home team must change to an alternate color.
  4. Prior to the start of the game, turn the Game Day Roster Card into the referee.
  5. There will be approximately 3-5 minutes between games. At approximately 30 seconds prior to the start of the game, please clear the field and send out the starting line up. Very often the referee will signal when this time is or the remaining warm-up time will be displayed.
  6. When the game is scheduled to start, the referee will start the clock. The time may start even if teams are not lined up and ready to go. It is important for Mundy Sportsplex to stay on schedule. Please plan accordingly and have your team ready to go.
  7. Coaches should verify that the correct score is recorded. Winning coach should initial the scorecards.
  8. Clear bench area quickly after the game has ended to make room for next teams. Please pick up and dispose of all trash. Additional

    2. All players must wear regulation shin guards during play. Under no circumstances may a player participate without shin guards. Socks must completely cover the shinguards.
    3. Mundy Sportsplex is not responsible for any lost items, including soccer balls.
    4. Teams should bring alternate jerseys. Home teams must change when there is a color conflict. Mundy Sportsplex does not provide pullovers.
    5. No Kicking of balls is allowed outside of the playing area. Teams can prepare for games in the training space areas when available, but this is to be used for stretching and discussion only. Please note that there may be days that the training space areas may not be available due to Facility’s rental needs.
    6. Schedules are subject to change. Check the website for the most up to date schedule.
    7. All youth teams are allowed to have (1) Head Coach and (1) Assistant Manager to be present on the sidelines during the game. If a Head Coach has two or more teams, they are then allowed to have an additional Assistant Manager. If no “Coach/Manager” is present, the game will not be played and will be recorded as a forfeit.
    8. Only players and coaches/managers are allowed in the player boxes during the game.
    9. The clock will run at all times. The game is over at the buzzer unless the referee deems intentional delay of game in the last minute, thus allowing the referee to add stoppage time.
    10. Exit the field after your game as quickly as possible to allow the next teams the opportunity for a quick warm-up. Please pick up all litter in your team box.
    11. We have the right to honor any other organization’s judiciary sanctions against players, teams, and officials.

  1. No spitting in players’ area or on the field. A two-minute penalty will be enforced for this violation.

  3. “Bench Clearing”: If any player enters the field to break up or participate in a fight, the Team will be fined $50. Fines must be paid prior to a team continuing the season schedule. Team will then be put on probationary status.
  4. A player receiving a red card will be suspended for the remainder of that game, and will be suspended from, at minimum, the next match. Additional game suspension will be left to the decision of Mundy Sportsplex Management.
  5. ALL RED CARDS ARE SUBJECT TO A FINE. MUNDY SPORTSPLEX RESERVES THE RIGHT TO IMPOSE A FINE BASED ON SEVERITY AND/OR NATURE OF THE CARDED OFFENSE.

REFEREE CONCERNS/COMPLAINTS/COMPLIMENTS:

Please remember that referees appointed to officiate each game have complete authority and that his/her decisions and the points of fact connected with each game are final. Referees are independent subcontractors and are not employees of Mundy Sportsplex. Mundy Sportsplex management will oversee referee staff and their officiating through periodic assessments and certification verification to ensure quality. Constructive comments regarding officiating are welcomed and encouraged. Please submit such comments in writing. If you have a major concern with an issue in the game (i.e. other team is using illegal players, rough play), please notify the Mundy Sportsplex staff member on duty and alert them of the issue. Once the issue is explained in detail, the staff member will act or observe appropriately.

Additionally, any concern where action is needed must be delivered in writing, preferably via email. Please address the issue specifically and note the actions that were taken. We track all concerns and if a certain issue or referee complaint is reoccurring, we will take action.

Communication on concerns and complaints must come from/through the listed Team Manager or Coach. Because these are the individuals who signed the registration form stating they have read and are aware of these guidelines and policies, we must ensure they are involved in the communication. To clarify, it is acceptable for any player/parent to write the concerns/complaints, but the team manager must be aware of it and agree with it.

NO TOLERANCE POLICY

Mundy Sportsplex has the right to suspend or ban a Player/Team/Parent/Spectator from playing at and/or entering the Mundy Sportsplex Facility. This can be done on the recommendation of the referee or at the discretion of the Management. Referees have been instructed to red card any player that:

  • Uses inappropriate language or comments towards the referee or another player
  • Maliciously hits, kicks, or strikes the referee or another player
  • Throws an object (including ball) at the referee or another player
  • Kicks or hits the boards or wall of the facility in disgust
  • Kicks the ball into the ceiling in disgust

Every player red carded will be suspended for the remainder of that game, and will be suspended from at minimum the next match. Additional game suspension will be left to the decision of Mundy Sportsplex Management.

No refunds will be given for games a player or team is suspended from.

When red carded, a player is required to give his/her first and last name to the referee. If this is not done, and the team manager or teammates do not give his/her name, the game will be forfeited 4-0 and that team will be suspended from their next game. If the name given does not match a name on that teams roster, the game will be forfeited 4-0 and that team will be suspended from their next game.

A player that receives two red cards resulting from the above behavior will be suspended from playing at Mundy Sportsplex for 8 games. No refunds will be issued.
